Apple’s iPad mini event round-up: everything you have to know!

The iPad mini event is over and much have been talked about especially on all the products Apple introduces in one event! We have a list of products Apple shows to the world in the event and iPad Mini, the long awaited iPad Mini is one of them. Yes, there are also iMacs and MacBooks. Chill.

Everything about the event was awesome, but there is only one let down when Apple introduces the iPad 4th gen. The 3rd generation iPad is just out for 7-8 months and we all expect Apple to have a minor refresh on the iPad (like what happened to iPad 2 last year) but the refresh is too much to be considered minor. This will make some iPad 3 owner to be pissed but some says they would be happy with their iPad 3 and saving on lightning adapters.

Rather than going all over the internet for all the post about the Apple event, we found an awesome round-up of the event by Cult of Mac which gives a complete round-up of the event. Enjoy!

Here’s everything that Apple announced at today’s keynote:

Apple sends out event invitations. What is the hidden message this time? iPad Mini’s name confirmed!

Apple has recently sent out invitations to it’s event this 23th October 2012. We are very sure that the smaller iPad will be showcased in this event together with some others which we are not very certain of. But the likes of a new 13 inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, refreshed iMac and Mac Minis might be possible to be on stage this coming event.

Everytime Apple sends out event invitations, they will have a hidden message in the invitation that will hint on what will be happening on the event. For example, the iPhone 5 event invitations have a shadow of the number 5 which hints that the iPhone 5 is coming. For the new iPad invitation, a blurred large Retina Display icon is cleverly hidden in the background. But this time, we cant say much about the invitation. Except for the wordings that comes with the invitation that says “We’ve got a “little” more to show you”. This might be the hint that something little will be showcased on that event! Like the iPad mini? LOL

And we have also noticed that the Apple logo forms a big “m” on the invitation which also hints to iPad “m”ini. So we can conclude that the naming is now confirmed! And such a colorful invitation might hint that the iPad mini will come in various different colors like the new iPod touch. That will be cool!

We will know all of that on the 23th of October 2012. For local time, the event will be happening on 1AM on the 24th October 2012. Stay tuned to littlegeeko as we will be updating you during the event! Have a good day!

If iPad Mini is Batman in the upcoming Apple event, 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display will be Robin. Or the other way round?

The smaller iPad may be the star of Apple’s rumored Oct. 23rd invitation-only event, but it will have an impressive supporting cast. Curious?

Sources familiar with Apple’s plans tell AllThingsD that the company plans to unveil a smaller version of its MacBook Pro with Retina Display, as well. News of Apple’s plans to show off the device next week was first reported by 9to5Mac.

A 13-inch version of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display that debuted in June, will feature the same thin chassis, all-Flash storage and a 2,560 by 1,600 pixel density display comparable to the 2880 by 1800 display of its predecessor, sources say. No word yet on price, though it will obviously be a bit less than the $2,199 baseline price of the 15-incher. With the pricing of the iPad mini being very impressive, we really hope that the pricing of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display will impress us as well.

10 things you should expect/know about iPhone 5

If you are reading this and you still don’t know anything about the iPhone 5, we are not sure which hole are you from. Rumors and news about iPhone 5 are all over the internet and everyone is talking about it. Most people might already know or guessed how the next iPhone might look like exactly but this is a list of the 10 things you should know/expect about the iPhone 5.

1. It will be unveiled on the 12th of September 2012 (that is around 1am local time on 13th September 2012). And you can follow the the live blog from engadget.com for the most updated news during the event. Or you can also visit littlegeeko for everything about the event.

2. It will probably be called the iPhone 5. Frankly, we do not expect it to be called the iPhone 5. We expect it to be called simply the new iPhone like what Apple did with the new iPad. But from the invitation Apple sent out with a huge “12” with the shadow of the 12 being a number “5”. This will definitely point to the next iPhone being named as the iPhone 5.

3. Like it or not, it is going to have the home button. Home button is a must for iDevices. It is like the thing that define an iProduct. And it is really not bad. So why not just have it there. Some videos and article says that the home button will have fingerprint scanner but we doubt that will be the real case. So expect an ordinary home button that millions of people love.

4. It is going look different with larger screen. Everyone know that the next iPhone will be a redesign and many predictions or leaks are all over the internet and the one design that are the most convincing at the moment is the elongated screen iPhone design. We are more convinced about this design when the latest Apple banner for the 12th September event does have a hidden hint. At first, most people thought that the colorful banner hints that the iPhone might come in many different colors for the first time. After thorough investigation, people starts to realize that the splash of colors are actually the colors of all the iOS’s icons stretched, hinting that the next iPhone will have a stretched or elongated screen. We really hope this is true and but we are kinda sure that the iPhone will surely have a larger screen.

5. It will come with smaller dock connector and uses nano-SIM.

6. It will be faster! Packing with at least an A5X chip (like the one in the new iPad) or maybe hopefully the A6 chip. We hope it will be the A6 but we sort of like doubt Apple will put the A6 into the iPhone 5 because that is usually not the way Apple do things.

7. It will ship with iOS6 pre installed. YAY! Cant wait for iOS6.

8. It will have 4G connectivity and some sort of mobile payment solutions like NFC.

9. It will have an improved camera. HOPEFULLY!

10. It will have an improved battery. But do not expect a huge improvement. But I am sure everyone will be happy even with a small improvement on the battery life.

These are the 10 things you should expect/know about the iPhone 5. People have high expectation of the iPhone 5, especially when the iPhone 4S does not have a huge improvement over the iPhone 4 so people expect the iPhone 5 to be awesome. Let’s hope it does not disappoint!

Stay tuned for more about the iPhone 5 and the updates of the iPhone 5 event.

We also expect new iPod touches and iMacs to be unveiled on the same event. But the iPad mini will be announced sometime in October 2012.

The “New iPhone” to have 4.6-inch screen set to launch on second quarter 2012 [Rumor]

The rumors on the iPhones to have a larger screen is no stranger to everyone. But the iPhone 4S proved everyone wrong by retaining the same 3.7-inch standard iPhone screen size. But will the next iPhone, or we can assume it will be called the “New iPhone”, be having the highly anticipated 4.6-inch screen? It seems very likely with a report from a South Korean source stating that “Apple has decided on the bigger 4.6-inch retina display for its next iPhone and started placing orders to its suppliers”

This was said by the Maeil Business Newspaper quoting an unnamed industry source.

And the source also claims that the device will be available as early as the second quarter of 2012. Meaning we will be very likely to see the new iPhone during WWDC 2012 around June. But there are also sources which says the new iPhone wont be announced until October 2012 to keep the 1 year time length after the announcement of iPhone 4S.

These are all rumors, so please do not take any of these too seriously. But rumors are what makes it so interesting.

iPad 2 Display vs New iPad Retina Display

You guys might be asking yourself, “is the retina display in the new iPad so good? the display of my iPad 2 is already stunning enough”. Well, it does makes a huge difference in terms of the pixel density and the resolution of the screen. Here is a picture of the display of an iPad 2 compared to the new iPad.

Do you see the difference? The icon seen on the new retina display is not pixelated at all and it looks just like a printing on paper. Great great display there.
