OnLive Gaming might put Gaming Consoles to an end…not so soon

OnLive is an on-demand service that streams games to your computer, TV or tablet. Requiring no discs, no hard-drive space, no downloads and no high-end components, it has the potential to kill traditional consoles, and shake up the gaming world in a massive way. If you want to play it on your TV, you will need to buy the OnLive Game System box(as shown above) which comes with a wireless controller (cost around RM400 converted from £). The best thing about OnLive is that it can basically run on anything with a screen and internet connection because all the computational grunt will be happening on the OnLive server elsewhere but not on the machine you use to play the games.

Signing up for OnLive is free [Click here] but you will have to pay for individual game titles or subscriptions for the access to the games library.

This may work well in western countries(which sometimes also experience lags) but certainly with the broadband speed in Malaysia, this will be playable at any time soon. Until we have decent connection speed to the internet. But this certainly will be a very huge threat to console gaming like the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
