Apple has lost its appeal against a UK ruling that Samsung had not infringed its design rights.
A judge at the High Court in London had originally ruled in July that the look of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab computers was not too similar to designs registered in connection with the iPad.
He said at the time that Samsung’s devices were not as “cool” because they lacked Apple’s “extreme simplicity”.
Apple still needs to run ads saying Samsung had not infringed its rights. That will suck for Apple! Lets see what Apple will do in response to this.
The US firm had previously been ordered to place a notice to that effect – with a link to the original judgement – on its website and place other adverts in the Daily Mail, Financial Times, T3 Magazine and other publications to “correct the damaging impression” that Samsung was a copycat.
Anyway, Apple does not always win. =p
The iPad mini’s announcement is around the corner and we all expect it to be unveiled by Apple in this month. Most probably mid October 2012. We have seen most of the leaked part of this device and they do look good in some of them. And it is highly anticipated because we all expect it to be a rather cheap tablet by Apple. Who doesnt want to own an iPad? Right? Especially if it is that cheap!
Martin Hajek who was famous for his accurate concept design of the iPhone 5 earlier last month has made some wonderful iPad mini concept designs and we hope these are as accurate as what he did for iPhone 5.
Here are some of his gorgeous designs:
These designs look rock solid, and based on the rumor mill, there’s a very good chance Apple’s upcoming tablet will look almost exactly like what Hajek has imagined. Make sure to head over to Gizmodo to check out all of Hajek’s work in glorious high resolution.
Hajek even design the iPad mini to come with cool blue color which looks something like the blue we have for the new iPods. But for us, if the iPad mini really comes with a black back casing, it will be just awesome. Or rather, droolsome!!
Tell us what you think about the designs and the iPad mini!
Could this be your next iPhone? Let’s assume it is genuine and take a look at what the plan tells us about the next iPhone. It’s hard to establish the size of the device because without those specifics, but it certainly seems to sport a longer form factor with a larger display. It definitely has a home button, despite rumors suggesting that that will disappear, and it seems the FaceTime camera has been moved. The small circle above the handset’s earpiece could be the FaceTime camera’s new home, though that could also be a proximity sensor.
Unfortunately there are no plans for the handset’s rear end, so this is all we have right now. But you can be sure we’ll see plenty more of these leaks before the new iPhone gets its unveiling later this year.
We still doubt this is for real. We will have more designs coming out in the coming weeks based on our experience. Stay tuned!
Sources says that Apple will be launching the next generation iPhone or the “iPhone5” on the 7th of October. Apple has been weighing between launching the new iPhone on October 7th or October 14th, but with the product’s latest stages of pre-mass-production currently moving along nicely, Apple is presently shooting towards a launch on the 7th.
And a photo of iPhone5 manufacturing process from the production factory was found which indicates that the iPhone5 will have an elongated home button. And the exterior design is different from how the iPhone4 look like. Contradicting with some predictions which predicts the iPhone5 will have the same exterior design as the iPhone4.
I think the screen is also bigger as observed from the photo.
Come on Apple, release the beast already!
Like usual, people all around the world comes up with cool iPhone mock-up designs for the next iPhone. But this year has been particularly better with more great, cool designs out before we know anything for sure! Only god (and a few people) knows how the real iPhone 5 looks like!
Click on this link to see the list of all the cool mock-ups for all the great designers! Only nice ones are included…sorry for all the crappy mock-ups.
Which one is the best in your opinion? My personal favorite is this!
