ASUS Transformer Prime is now the king of the tablet world with its Tegra 3 processor which is amazing! No tablet can match what the ASUS Transformer have to offer for the time being (not even the iPad 2 in my opinion). But this is going to change very soon with Acer and Lenovo both will have their own tablet with Tegra 3 processor. An insider reported to DigiTimes that Acer and Lenovo are set to launch quad-core tablet PCs featuring Google’s Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and Nvidia’s Tegra 3 in the first quarter of 2012 to compete against Asustek Computer, which has already launched its latest Eee Pad Transformer Prime with Tegra 3.
However, they have plenty to do before they can manage to break the dominance of Apple and Amazon in the tablet market. Apple and Amazon is expected to keep the dominance with better upcoming tablets with quad core processors as well.
Non-apple brands only account for 10-15% of the tablet market at the moment and they still choose to compete with Apple in this market knowing how big this market will be in the future.
Acer and Lenovo tablets with Tegra 3 processor coming on the 1st quarter of 2012 will be priced around US$459-599 which is around RM1600.
