Google announced Nexus 4, 7 and 10 together with a new flavor of Jelly Bean

Despite the cancellation of Google event due to hurricane attack in the US, they finally announced the Nexus 4 smartphone(LG), Nexus 7 32GB variant (ASUS) and Nexus 10 high resolution tablet (Samsung) along with the new version of Jelly Bean called Android 4.2 via online.

“Today, we’re excited to announce three great new Nexus devices … in small, medium and large,” wrote Google in a blog post. “And they all run Android 4.2, a new flavor of Jelly Bean — which includes the latest version of Google Now and other great new features.”

Nexus 10

The Nexus 10 by Samsung, includes a 2560 x 1600 resolution Super AMOLED display with 299ppi making it the highest resolution tablet today. Surpassing the iPad’s 264ppi Retina Display. The Nexus 10 also features Samsung’s new 1.7 GHz Exynos 5 chips, 2GB of RAM, NFC, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 9,000mAh battery that Google says will deliver five hours of video playback, or 500 hours of up-time on standby. No SD card slot for additional storage and comes with Android 4.2 pre-loaded as expected from a Nexus device. The 16GB version will cost $400, while the 32GB model is priced at $500. Available November 13. Despite of the awesomely high resolution, we think that the Nexus 10 is perhaps on of the ugliest tablet to date. Samsung is not known for making beautiful tablets and this is one of their worst design for tablets.

Nexus 4

Nexus 4 is a smartphone by LG with Quad-core processor, 4.7-inch display (320dpi), wireless charging capabilities, Google Now, and a new feature called Photo Sphere for creating 360-degree, Street View-like panorama shots. The Nexus 4 will go for $300 starting November 13. Nothing breath taking about this device but it look way better than the Nexus 10. But sadly, no LTE support yet. But the pricing will draw alot of attentions to it.

Nexus 7

The Nexus 7 will now only be available in 16GB ($200) and 32GB ($250) models while the 8GB version will be discontinued (if you have one, keep it, remember its limited edition now, might worth alot in the future, or maybe not). Also, Google will now offer 32GB Nexus 7 model with HSPA+ connectivity for $300. Nexus 7 is still the best among the 3. And the pricing of this device is just crazy good. Not the best tablet in the world but certainly the best for its price.

Nokia Lumia 610 for an incredible RM699

The Nokia Lumia 610, a very capable smartphone running Windows Phone OS. Always being shadowed by it’s more powerful sibling, the Nokia Lumia 710, the Lumia 610 does not lack in any case. We think that Lumia 610 is a very good smartphone given the cheap pricetag. And what is more amazing is the fact that the device is just priced at RM699 now. That is an awesome price for a device like this.

It is true that Windows Phone does not stand out when it comes down to the number of apps but the OS is as powerful as any major mobile OS out there today. Simple and intuitive. So if you are planning to get a new smartphone and cash is not your best friend in the moment, the Nokia Lumia 610 is your new best friend.

Image: blk.grl.blogging/Tumblr

Okay, lets be real, people nowadays cant stop pressing their phones. 5 minutes away from their phone will be like a lifetime and you cannot deny that you are also one of these people when you are out with friends and you feel bored or sometimes you just need to press your phone and check for any SMSs or emails even though you just checked like a minute ago. This is getting more and more serious where a group of people hangout in a cafe with no conversation but everyone is pressing their respective phones and phone addicts which wont leave their phones out of their palm.

With this, there is an article on discovery.com on a game that will make you stop checking your phone during a hangout or dinner or just chilling out with friends and family. And I think this game is brilliant but to be frank, this is a very hard game to play. But winner does get a good reward. This is how the game goes:

Rules:
1) The game starts after everyone has ordered.

2) Everybody places their phone on the table face down.

3) The first person to flip over their phone loses the game.

4) Loser of the game pays for the bill.

5) If the bill comes before anyone has flipped over their phone everybody is declared a winner and pays for their own meal.

6) Answering incoming calls are allowed.

7) You cannot touch or mess with anybody else’s phone.

Variations/house rules:

-Starting the game after everyone is seated.

-In the rare event that multiple people flip their phones simultaneously, the bill is split between said players.

– Feel free to invoke penalties/strikes systems.

Can you manage not to look or check your phone for the entire session?

Just try it out with your friends but bear in mind that you might lose also. This is just a game, please do not get into a fight or anything like that. I hold no responsibility for any such occurrence. =)

Tell us how does the game goes!

Google co-founder and CEO Larry Page announced the buy first thing this morning, saying that they had purchased Motorola Mobility for twelve and a half billion dollars, or $40 per share.

This is around 63% of what Motorola is worth and it a big amount of money seeing that Google’s cash reserves are only around $39 billion. This proves how important it is for Google to buy Motorola.

With this, Google now makes both software and hardware for smartphones just like most of it’s competitors like Microsoft, Apple, HP and Nokia. And of course, another main reason it to own all the patents of Motorola Mobility. This means a lot to Google in all these harsh patent war!
